Sports Nutrition Coaching FAQs

Get your questions about sports nutrition coaching and running nutrition coaching below.

  • Sports Nutrition coaching is for runners looking to have support, accountability, and guidance on how to properly fuel their training and race-day for success. It is backed by Sports Nutrition science and tried and true methods that work.

  • No, you do not necessarily need to be training for a race or competition, although if you are, even more importance to have a run nutrition coach by your side to give you advice and step-by-step guidance on how to fuel and decrease barriers to proper fueling.

  • No, my sports nutrition coaching is not focused on weight loss and rather focused on better performance and feeling good in your body both on the trail and off the trail. If you are looking for weight loss, it is best that is comes secondary to healthy eating habits and done so in the off-season at a slow and sustainable pace. It is difficult to give your body the fuel it needs to thrive if we are in a deficit.

  • Sports Nutrition Coaching is bi-weekly nutrition coaching sessions that last up to 55-minutes to individualize the sports nutrition education to your needs and where you are at.

In-between sessions you have options of more support like the Back-Pocket dietitian and specific application to help with either meal planning, plate coaching or macronutrient tracking.

  • Not necessarily, I take an individualized approach to this as for some people tracking macros can become obsessive with the numbers and forget the big picture.

  • I am an eating disorder informed run nutrition coach and support all my clients with the notion food is fuel.

I work one-on-one with you to form a healthy relationship with food and body that look different for each person.

  • Yes, I work with high school athletes and college athletes especially in Track and Field and Cross Country. I also work with other field sports.

  • Absolutely! Race-day and long runs or long workouts is something we can tackle together to be better equipped with knowledge and steps to help you fuel well and succeed.

  • If you have a medical nutrition diagnosis such as fatigue, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, IBS, low iron, abnormal blood work, headaches, overweight, or underweight then your health insurance may cover all or part of the cost.

If you do not have a medical nutrition diagnosis, in some cases such as with Blue Cross Blue Shield it can be covered under preventative care.
